The Cooking Club

A Space to Learn, Grow, and Cook — Together

The Cooking Club was started with one clear purpose: to create a space where cooks could come together to learn, grow, and support each other — no matter where they’re starting from.

As a chef and lecturer, I know not everyone has the opportunity to attend culinary school. This club is my way of giving back: an open, welcoming kitchen where professional-level culinary knowledge is shared freely. Whether you’re a self-taught home cook, a student trying to deepen your skills, or a chef brushing up on technique, you’re welcome here.

🔥 What We’ve Done So Far

The Cooking Club blends practical learning with community and experimentation. Some of our favourite moments include:

  • Learning Baker’s Percentages: Understanding formulas, hydration, and scaling — demystifying professional baking math
  • Free Masterclasses from Industry Professionals: From pastry skills to plating theory, we’ve brought real-world expertise straight into our members’ kitchens
  • The Matt Adlard Cookbook Challenge: We chose his book, cooked through it together, and shared results, feedback, and failures — learning not just the recipes, but the thought process behind them
  • Open Q&As and Peer Support: No question is too basic. No curiosity too small. Every cook is treated like a peer here.

Whether we’re troubleshooting custards or decoding fermentation, the Cooking Club thrives on honest knowledge-sharing — without ego, gatekeeping, or fluff.

📚 Why This Club Matters

  • Access Over Exclusivity: Culinary school isn’t accessible to everyone — but learning should be
  • Teaching That Feels Human: This isn’t about rigid technique, it’s about understanding the why behind what we cook
  • Real Skills for Real Cooks: No influencer fluff, just solid kitchen fundamentals with room for creativity
  • A Living Extension of the Classroom: Many lessons I teach in culinary college, I offer here freely — because every cook deserves mentorship

📅 How It Works

  • Monthly Themes, Challenges, or Deep-Dives
  • Interactive WhatsApp Group for Learning & Support
  • Live Sessions, Guest Talks, and Cookbook Collaborations
  • Flexible Participation — cook what you can, when you can

We honour the process as much as the product — and we believe learning happens best when done together.
